About the Job

Objectives &Expected Results:

o The MEAL officer supports the project being implemented by CUAMM in the area. He/she supports the project manager in the preparation of comprehensive reports for Local Authorities, donors, Cuamm country office, and other partners and stakeholders. He/she is also expected to support the local Health Office in monitoring and evaluating the health activities

The overall purpose of the role is:

o Collaborate on the implementation of the project, ensuring quality, accountability and learning experience that will continuously contribute to the overall successful implementation of the project. The role is to execute the MEAL system in the project interventions in designated areas.

Job Responsibility

o Ensure regular collection, management and updating of reliable data related to the project implementation

o Ensure effective Monitoring and Evaluation during project implementation

o Ensure timely data collection, analysis and reporting in the Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP)

o Actively involved in the development /review of monitoring and supervision checklist, data collection tool, reporting formats etc. and ensure proper utilization of the tools by the project team and local stockholders

o Provide technical support to the clinical team on the use of the Electronic Medical Recording (EMR) software, ensure timely upload of data to the system and Perform periodic extraction of data and reports out of the system.

o Technical assistance and support to hospitals and health centers in monthly data collection, and timely upload them in CUAMM DHIS2

o Support data collection exercises in relevant hospitals and project intervention areas (MHNTs) according to the needs and in coordination with the project manager o Support and facilitate operational researches, surveys, assessments and studies conducted during project implementation

o Participate on the periodic supportive supervision activities with project teams o Support the project manager in preparing periodic reports to donors and government offices

o Prepare data collection tools, reports and other required documents for the smooth running of CUAMM projects in coordination with the project manager

o Prepare and share key learnings, best practices and success stories of the project and ensure that key learnings are incorporated in the report and the upcoming project intervention plan.

o Lead the activities related to the Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) of the project

o Any additional assignment, according to the position, given by the Project manager

About You
  • BSc or MSc Degree in Public Health, Biostatics, Epidemiology, Health Information Management and related fields
  • At least 2 years’ experience as MEAL officer with NGOs At least 2 years’ experience in Amhara Region or Addis Ababa
  • Office MS (Basic requirement) Advance software like Kobo Tool Box, QGIS or SPSS (advance requirements)
  • Having a certificate on DHIS2, MEAL DPro and other MEAL related online training will be advantageous
