We are hiring a Pharmacist to work with our field team in South Sudan. This role is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations at the hospital, ensuring the timely resupply of pharmaceuticals, supervising pharmacy assistants, and maintaining regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for the pharmaceutical inventory processes at the various sites, including staffing the pharmacy. A day in the life of a Pharmacist, Emergency Response:

In the role of Pharmacist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Monitor drug therapies, advise on interventions, review and interpret physician orders and identify any potential therapeutic incompatibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medications to serve patients effectively and complete required documentation and reporting in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide pharmacological information to the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure adherence to infection-control protocols to protect patients and staff
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring timely tracking, resupply, and regulatory compliance and coordinates remotely with the Samaritans Purse Supply Chain Management Team
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Develop staffs pharmacological knowledge through trainings for pharmacy and medical staff.
  • Assist the Medical Director as needed in navigating additions or changes to pharmaceutical protocols.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completion of accredited training as a Pharmacist with current active licensure in sending jurisdiction and a minimum two (2) years experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital or clinic setting is required; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Clinical pharmacy experience within the last five years is required
  • Expert knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug therapies, and medical protocols
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacy supply chain standards and inventory control
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to operate cross-culturally and as part of a team
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)

Job Location: Unity State, South Sudan

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required); Arabic would be helpful

Accompaniment: Unaccompanied

Travel Expectations: 80-90 days/annually; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
