INTERNATIONAL WARS AND DISASTERS VICTIMS’ PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (IRVD) is a non -governmental organization established by a group of volunteers in Syria during the crisis in 2012 and registered in the USA, Sweden, and turkey.

IRVD is implementing projects through regional offices in Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, and Somalia.

Our work sectors are Health, Nutrition, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Protection, Shelter & Non-food items, Wash and Sanitation.

IRVD also manages development projects, advocates to empower civil societies and local governance

Job Description

IRVD is seeking a Project Coordinator who will manage all IRVD-related activities in Somalia, including initiating recruitment processes, identifying training needs and developing training modules and workshops, and managing the performance of IRVD staff members

Responsibilities:

Management and Program Quality:

  • Ensure implementation of the IRVD Regional project
  • Ensure monitoring of the outcomes and impacts is done at the field level.
  • Oversee the overall implementation of the assigned project with the project manager and with project proposals to ensure goals are achieved within the timeframe and budget.
  • Manage a comprehensive project activity plan, including a resource needs analysis, covering the time frame of the project proposal. Support the relevant project manager in making day-to-day decisions.
  • Maintaining an overview of the regional context with a view to the strategic development of new projects both in the existing sites and surrounding areas. This may include basic needs assessments.
  • Ensure complete and timely reporting of activities to project, line managers, and other bodies.
  • The project coordinator will be able to work on the given deadlines

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting:

  • Ensure regular monitoring and evaluation are conducted against project objectives and reports to relevant managers or donors.

Ability to:

  • Ability to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments.
  • Ability to conduct work in a professional and mature manner.
  • Ability to mentoring and training; experience in supervising staff desirable
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and work under pressure with deadlines.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Social Science, International Relations, Regional Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience in the field, preferably in a relief environment.
  • Experience working with relief and rehabilitation NGOs or an agency in the humanitarian aid field.
  • Advanced planning, evaluation and analysis skills.
  • Good report and proposal writing skills.

Languages:

  • Arabic and English are mandatory (oral and written)
