Reporting to: Regional Manager

Aim of the position: The project manager is primarily responsible for managing the project, coordinating and supervising all phases of implementation, ensuring compliance with the donor procedures and AVSI’s approach. He is responsible for defining the timetable, financial monitoring, supervising the project team, and internal coordination of the consortium.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Coordination of the intervention: the work plan development and implementation, monitoring
of the activities.
• Planning, supervision and monitoring of project activities and staff.
• Administrative management in line with the assignment specifications and the guidelines to which
it refers (including the Administrative Clarifications and other instructions that he will receive
from the Italian Cooperation Office) and in line with the AVSI procedures.
• Drafting of intermediate reports and the final report to be submitted to the Italian Cooperation
Office as established by the assignment regulations.
• Regular relations with the Italian Cooperation Office to verify the project progress.
• Coordination with local and international NGOs and United Nations Agencies working in the
education sector.
• Participation in the evaluation and monitoring missions planned during the project in progress
• Verification that the administrative reporting of project expenses would be correct.
• Participation in the development of project proposals, including the literature review writing,
contextual analysis, developing evaluation surveys, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.

Essential Requirements

Qualification:
Specialization qualifications in social sciences, education, management, development cooperation or international relations.

Knowledge of foreign languages:
Good knowledge of French and English, written and spoken.

Work experience in the professional field of expertise:
At least 1 year of work experience in the humanitarian sector.

Required skills and experiences

Previous work experience in project management and previous field experience are an added advantage.
