Deputy Team Leader – Sierra Leone at Plan International 31 views0 applications

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 75 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

Plan International Sierra Leone is looking to recruit a Deputy Team Leader to drive technical delivery of the SMART project through technical support to the consortium and lead activities with a focus on quality. The Deputy Team Leader will be responsible for the delivery of all services and deliverables and supervise a team of mobilised staff to ensure quality delivery of the project.

The role will aim to establish and maintain working relationships with 4 consortium partners to ensure quality delivery, lessons learned and strategy planning. The role will look externally to influence and inform key stakeholders of project achievements.

The DFID-funded 4 year Smart Project will commence in May 2017 and work closely with stakeholders at national and district level. The project will engage 5 districts working with Junior Secondary Schools to increase learning for marginalised girls and children with disabilities.

The Person

In order to succeed in this challenging and varied role you will have at least 5 years experience of leading technical delivery of multi-million pound education system strengthening programmes.

You must have implemented technical cooperation projects at a senior level, be able to demonstrate management and leadership experience and be confident liaising with external stakeholders

Experience working with DFID and NGOs would be an advantage.
